10 Easter-Shaped Yummy Eats!

Did you miss me yesterday? I sure missed you lovely lovely people. Apparently, I am channeling Mr. Rogers right now or maybe my cuz, Bob Ross.

Earlier this week we checked out some snazzy Easter decorations. Easter certainly getting any further away so let's take a gander into the world of food shaped like Easter bunnies and other Easter-y things!

Bunny Breakfast! Cantaloupe, blueberries, strawberry, honey, and, marshmallows on a pancake. You know you like it!

Coconut Bunny Cake! Deliciously cute.

A snack tray in an egg carton. People these days are crafty!

Someone lost their mind when they called this pizza. It is a cute idea and a fun snack, but everyone knows that in NO WAY is that pizza.

Once again, someone decided that this is pizza. People are acting a fool up in here. Take some inspiration from this photo and make a cute egg-shaped vegetable tray. Leave off the questionable purple food though.

Bunny mask cookies. I KNOW that's right!

The only problem with this super adorable carrot patch treat is that everyone knows wafers are the grossest!

Mmmm Cheetos, the most delicious junk food in the world.

 A noodle shaped chicken. Yesssss!
And, the last thing I have for you on this fabulous Friday is some cute bunny biscuits.

Happy happy happy Friday! I hope your weekend is just what you need. Stay tuned to The Etc. Lists tomorrow for a some Cora time.

14 Nifty Easter/ Spring Decorations To Get You Inspired!

Spring is in the air and Easter is only a couple weeks away.

To those crazy-holiday-decorating-fools: The time has come! Let's see some Easter eggs and bunnies lining your driveway! If you don't have a Spring wreath on your door yet I am just going to pretend I don't know you (I hope you caught my sarcasm there. Read on to see how far from the truth that is).

Myyyyyy goodness, do I like things decorated with branches!!! I have never used branches in my decorating, but apparently it is what is missing in my life. Isn't this a happy colorful branchy situation! As soon as I host a big Easter gathering something like this is going to happen. At the very least I will print out this photo and show my guests that I found some good decorating ideas!

Here is a more subdued branchy-situation:

While we are talking about things I love, but have never decorated with... WREATHS! I am a fraud! I wrote a whole post about St. Patrick's Day Wreaths, Christmas Wreaths, and Thanksgiving Wreaths. But a single wreath has never graced my front door or any space in my house. Let's take a look at 2 cute Spring-ish wreaths that are almost inspiring me to make the no-wreath-change.

A bunny! Oh, the cleverness!

For something else that I think is pretty but would never do see below.
I could never bring myself to waste that much candy even though jelly beans are not so impressive.

Something I could get into:
Growing my own decorations! Wheat grass can = Easter grass!

And, you can dress it all up like this:

Now is the time that I would like to show you photos of one of my favorite ways to decorate... Garland! I love it! I am a bare bones decorator when it comes to special occasions, but garland (as long as I can reuse it) is the best!

More lovely garland!

One more! Make sure to click on the links at the end of this post for tutorials or more information on these fantastic decorations.

Fancy Schmancy!

A fun and practical Easter centerpiece.

Rainbow bunnies in a frame! So pretty! Carrot garland! The coolest!

To wrap up these snazzy Easter decorations, I have plastic eggs in egg cartons. Fun stuff, people. Fun stuff is what is happening around these parts.

Are you inspired? What new decorations are going up this year?

Happy Valentine's Day!

It is Thursday and Never Listless is supposed to shut down for a day of rest today!
But.....
Now, I'm back. To let you know. I can really shake 'em down!
Do you love me? I can really move. Do you love me? I'm in the groove. Ah do you love me? Do you love me? Now that I can dance! Daaaance! Watch me now, oh. Work, work!
Sorry, I just thought we needed a little more singing in our lives.

I am back to let you know I can really shake 'em down, but I am also dropping in to wish you a merry merry Valentine's Day! I hope you take the time to think of all the people you love. Write those people a letter, even an email will do. I am hoping that a blog post counts too!

So, to all of the wonderful people in my life: I LOVE YOU and am thankful for you every day! Thank you for being wonderful!

Now, let's take a quick gander at some more old school Valentine's Day cards. Wasn't it super fun to make your Valentine's envelope and then check it later to find out if any parent was smart enough to buy those delicious creamy lollipops to go with their kid's valentines? I'm not a lollipop lover anymore, but man oh man I can still taste the chemically goodness of these guys.

Lifesaver Swirl Lollipops!
Dear Google, I really had to dig to find a photo of these lollipops. Please do better next time. Don't make me step in again.

I'm not going to lie to you... I kind of loved this show. But that might have only been because it was on TGIF. Scott always says that the mom (the lady dinosaur below) reminds him of me... awesome!

Animal, you so crazy!

Sebastian is one super suave crab!

This Valentine's Day love is a little sweet but also a little bit incestuously creepy.

Speaking of creepy... whhhhhattt is going on with Ken?

There's nothing creepy about an awesome alien dressed up in animal print!

I think this might have been the most popular Valentine's Day card in 1990. I remember this raccoon like the back of my hand.

Thank you, MJ! I am cool, but never as cool as you with that awesome 90s sweater and that desert-y background!

Valentine's Crafts, Part 2

A couple of weeks ago, I showed you guys a heat shaved into a hairy back and some other pretty great Valentine's Day decorations.

I'm just going to show you a few Love-Day decorations for now. In a couple of hours Laurita's Cantina opens up and goes chocolate and pomegranate wild.

Aren't these the cutest vases you've ever seen? I imagined that it involved breaking out a needle and stringing teeny tiny hole punch pieces together. Nope, these people are way smarter than me. DOUBLE SIDED TAPE is where the secret lies below!

Pretty paper hearts. I am going to pretend like they used newspaper and are not responsible for tearing apart another lovely old book

This is just a framed sheet of chevron paper that says "I love you because..." and a dry erase board. I think this is a pretty fun idea to have hanging around every day. Today, if I were writing it to Cora, it would say, "I love you because... you told me when you pooped in your pants today." How about that, world (and 13 year-old-future-Cora?
And, if I were writing it for Scott it would say, "I love you because... you offered to come home early because I was stressed about Cora being a bit of a crank-pants because her nap was terrible and also because you are cleaning the house right now while I finish my blog post." It is fun to think of reasons why you love people every day. If anyone else is interested in why I love them today just ask!
ps you can even get a free print out of their chevron and font here.
It is written in the stipulations of my blogging laws that each post contain at least 2 photos of garland. So, here is another lovely one!

Don't forget that I will be back later today with some Dark Chocolate Pomegranates With Coconut!

Scott's Valentine's Day Wednesday Weekly Would You Rather Question:
WYR...
get 1,00 flowers of your choice (loose, no beautiful vases)
or
a one hour balloon ride for Valentine's Day?

Happy New Year's Eve! A List Of Where To Celebrate!

Happy New Year's Eve!!! Today, NL has got a little list action for you.

THE 12 BEST PLACES TO CELEBRATE NEW YEAR'S EVE!

  • Anywhere- as long as you're with the ones you love!
  • Times Square, New York with one million other people
  • Kiribati or Samoa. Those beautiful islands are the first place in the world to countdown the new year. I believe one of NL's readers, Richard, recently went to Kiribati. Richard, is Kiribati the place to be to ring in the new year?

  • American Samoa- the last place to celebrate the new year. If you loved 2012 this is your way to hold onto it for just touch longer!

Doesn't it seem crazy that Samoa and American Samoa are about as close as islands can get and they are 25 hours apart. Planning things could get a bit tricky. By the way, I do realize that this crazy time warp has to happen somewhere. But I bet the fact that they are both Samoas makes things slightly funkier. Below is a some map action for you.

  • On the floor doing sit-ups or whatever you can do to get your resolution started. Yes, it may be a little lame to get your workout on at midnight. But doing so will certainly prove that you're serious.

  • Awesome dance party! Go have some fun! Get your dance on. Bring your own playlist (from here).

That is a serious dance party. I do realize that I am making the world's creepiest face. My super flexible sister is bridging it up above me.

  • In a time-traveling DeLorean where you can pick the year you want to celebrate in.

  • Big Ben, London. Celebrate the new year by watching an enormous clock with a bunch of lovely-accented people! The Royal Greenwich Observatory in London also has quite a few fancy clocks.
Not quite Big Ben, but at least Abbey Road is in London.
  • On the plane where you can fly through all sorts of time zones and celebrate New Year's multiple times! About 20 years ago, my mom, sister and I flew home from Australia and were thrilled to get to say HAPPY NEW YEAR about 5 different times as the pilot announced it over the loudspeaker.
  • San Francisco, a fireworks factory or anywhere that has a great fireworks display. I kind of doubt that firework companies put on a fancy display on New Year's Eve. But, they should!
  • And, on the other side of the spectrum... a clear sky to watch the stars and think of all the fun you had in 2012.
  • Last, and probably least, a clock store where you can see 2013 happen all around you! Everyone knows that clock stores are open 24 hours a day every day of the year.

There she is! The New Year's List of a Lifetime!

Don't forget, yesterday I shared an awesome New Year's Eve playlist that my sister and I made. Go ahead and press that big triangle play button and get to listening! My sister spent a long time making it available to you online. If you have Spotify, click here to get your music on.

One more thing... a New Year's Eve birthday shout out to a bud I've known since kindergarten.

NYE Party Decorations And Music!

New Year's Eve is just a day away! It is time to get to decoratin'!
If you aren't interested in decorating but you are interested in hearing one of the best playlists ever made then you are in luck! After all the pretty pictures there is some happenin' music that a guest star helped me put together.

Tape balloons to your wall and make your abode classy!

Serve your guests clock pizza!!!

Ooooohhh more balloons! A balloon maze- very fun. Quite possibly very annoying though.

Maybe you could write "2013 goals" instead of "2011". But wouldn't it be kind of cool to have a board where everyone could write their resolutions?! If you need help setting a resolution or sticking to it check this post out.

Once again, be sure to get your numbers right. But, make sure you snazz-up your house with some gold-ribbon dripping decorations!

Confetti food!!! THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN!

Picture this: You're getting ready to celebrate 2013 making its way to town. You put down your champagne flute and some turkey picks it up and starts drinking out of it. You may be so upset that you go home in tears. Or maybe you deal with it like a normal person. Either way, why not just mark your cup. You could use a marker although your host may not appreciate that. You could use a wine charm. OR!!! or you could bring a game to your delightful New Year's Eve party.

See those little clocks on the bottom of the glasses in the photo below? Go ahead and make yourself something like that. But on each clock mark a time. Then, every 30 minutes or whatever interval you have marked on the glass, the person with that time on their glass has to stand up and tell everyone their resolution for 2013 or say something that they particularly enjoyed about 2012.

That's right people, I just made up a New Year's game to blow your party's mind.

And Music! You know I couldn't leave you without a playlist for your fabulous event.
Lucky for you, my sister (the playlist master of the world) is visiting me right now. Somehow, I convinced her to spend the last 4 hours working on this sound party with me. She has some serious playlist expertise. So, you will be sure to enjoy the following New Year's Eve playlist.

FYI This playlist may lead you to believe that I only know songs from the mid to early 90s. And, you would be correct!

One more thing: there is a surprise after the sweet playlist.

SURPRISE: Not only is my sister the #1 playlist playa' ever she is also very generous with her time. Get ready for this... she made a Spotify playlist of the fabulous New Year's Eve music above. Now, you can listen to it yourself without having the songs. She would like me to note that Spotify did not have actual Beatles songs so she had to get covers that are not nearly as good. There are a couple other covers on there and we had to let track #12 (ol' Dressy Bessy) go because Spotify be-a-hatin'.

If you have Spotify, just click here and it will take you to the playlist where you can listen your heart out! If you don't have Spotify and you want to download it click here. It is a pretty short process.

ps My sister would like to let everyone know that she provides a free service of making awesome playlists for you. But you don't get a choice in what's on them.
pps I made this playlist in Winamp because everyone knows that 90s music sounds the best on it.
