So, if you are decorating to impress 7 year olds don't worry about any of the cool wreaths below. Just buy some powdered sugar and ... hmmm I don't know how you make green powder footprints. Hopefully, you all can figure it out. If you can't, go with the wreaths.
1. Garland
2. Leafy Bud
4. Flower Power
5. Bead-azzled
8. Scrap Fabric
Did anyone figure out how to make the green powder footprints yet? I will also happily accept the answer to that trickiness.
When I worked with the Kindergarden classes we would cut out foot print shapes and sprinkle talcum powder on them to look like a leprechaun had walked across the room. We also put food coloring in the toilet bowl, that sent the kids over the top. I think St Patrick's Day for Elementary School kids was one of the most exciting holidays of all. They would also make Leprechaun Traps in the hope of catching the rascally Leprechaun who would mess up the classroom while they were at lunch. Fun times and lots of creativity and imagination.
ReplyDeleteAha! Maybe it wasn't green powder. The toilet thing is funny but also pretty gross.
DeleteI agree, St. P Day was the best!
Haha, those are cute St Patrick's Day stories! And cute wreaths.
ReplyDeleteElementary School FUN is always memorable! Ms. Ross I'm so glad you shared some tips! Another way to do leprechaun feet is to make a fist, then use the side of your fist where your pinkie finger is, stamp it w/ green paint/ink onto wherever w/ your hand still in a fist, then open up your hand, and use your pink finger to dot "toes" onto your "foot", it looks like a little leprechaun foot! We also turn over desks/chairs, and leave the window open a crack & put green streamers all over the place....ohhhh man I'm missing my Room 100 classroom right now, do you think Ruby would appreciate all this if I did it at home?? I mean she'll be 6 weeks old...hahahahhahah. Happy almost St. Patty's Day Ross Ladies!! --Momma Mali
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever teacher! Your leprechaun went wild in your room! Ruby would love it!
